I just discovered we have added another state in our beautiful country of USA. It's unique because there is no land, water, streets or occupancy in the true form. This state has ostracized many people. If you are a person of difference the trauma has been catastrophic. For those who struggle with or just haven't heard the term. It's a person of color, someone living with disabilities, LGBTQIA community, individuals of different faiths and genders. These folks are impacted by this state every minute and hour of every day. There is a level of anxiety among these folks just for existing. You know breathing, working and living in their own community. I thought that this state would have been no longer needed because we all value each other right? The contributors and practitioners in this state are family, friends, clergy, bosses, women, men you name it. Our recent events of the government shut-down has taught many of us ...
It amazes me daily how folks avoid the truth. It is something that hands down can't be refuted. Most times it's the elephant in the room. Everyone is looking into each other's eyes like who will put it out there. This has been a hellacious year. What I have thoroughly embraced is the truth. Not my version or your version ...what is put out there for the world to see or witness. Our country as a whole has been avoiding the truth of "us " and "them". The labels change daily for some and most folks are always seen as the lesser. I watched folks cross the line this week and the choice was clear. Everyone would feel the impact. I'm learning it's easier to accept the truth than court a lie. The truth never wavers because "it is what is".
